Richard James Palmer (b. 1986) is British documentary photographer based in the North East, UK. His work deals with many different topics such as abandonment, loneliness and people/places on the fringes of society. He often weave these topics into a project-based photo book. For him, a book gives a flow to a photographic story, and he enjoys having something tangible to hold in his hand.
He has two self-published photo books; 'Home Sweet Home' (2017) depicting the North East of England, and 'Honourable Lady' (2021) documents his Nan and her home. He also has 2 current projects that he has finished shooting with books in the pipeline: 'Church View', about an allotment in Sunderland and the last is a project of fly-tipping.
